National Sports Award 2016

The Mauritius Sports Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth & Sports organised the 31st Edition of the National Sports Award Gala Night 2016 on Friday 03 March 2017 at the Ravenala Attitude at Balaclava in the presence of:

Memorial Award 
In view to pay tribute to Late Mr. Ismael Valimamode, Commissioner for Health and Sports in Rodrigues for his commitment in the field of sports, a Memorial Award was remitted to his family and was represented by Mr. Elvino Pierre Louis, Sports Officer from Rodrigues.

Gift Voucher
Mr. Dominique Filleul of City Sport presented a gift voucher of Rs 1,500 to Mrs. Sarah Rawat Currimjee, Chairperson of the Mauritius Sports Council, which will be remitted to all nominees of the National Sports Award 2016.

Special Award
A shield has been awarded to Honorable Pravind Kumar JUGNAUTH, Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, External Communications and National Development Unit, Minister of Finance and Economic Development for gracing the National Sports Award 2016 and for his contribution to the development of Sports in Mauritius.

Interludes
During the Gala night, the guests were entertained by ABAIM group.
